Biography
Brother of David Alison.
He trained at the Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow, Scotland, under Fra. Newbery from 1905-1912, studying drawing and painting and life classes under Maurice Greiffenhagen, Paul Artot and James Huck, and gained his Diploma in 1911.
Served in France in the First World War, where he lost the sight of one eye. He joined the staff of the Glasgow School of Art in 1927, where he taught until 1946. In later years he concentrated his efforts on own his painting. .
Exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy from 1916-1921, Royal Academy and Glasgow Institute. His work is represented in the Glasgow Art Gallery. Lived in Glasgow.
