Biography

Margaret Fisher Prout was born in London, only daughter of the artist Mark Fisher. Studied with her father and at the Slade School of Art in 1894-97 under Fred Brown, where she was considered an outstanding student. After World War I became frequent exhibitor at London galleries, RA, NEAC and extensively abroad. British Museum, Contemporary Art Society and Chantrey Bequest bought her work. Retrospective exhibition was held at Worthing Art Gallery in 1961 and Blond Fine Art 1979.
