Biography

Edith Wandela Boreel was born in Pau, France. Studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in 1911, the Westminster Technical Institute under Walter Sickert and the Central School of Arts and Crafts. Boreel became closely associated with the Sickert circle. Exhibited at the National Society of Painters, New English Arts Club, London Group, Redfern (1922 and 1928) and Walker's Galleries (with Christina Cutter and Marjorie Lilly in 1922) and had a number of one-man shows in London and abroad. Victoria & Albert Museum holds her work.
