Biography

Septimus Edwin Scott was born in Sunderland, County Durham.Studied at the Royal College of Art. After working as an artist briefly in Sunderland and then for almost 40 years in London, around the start of the World War II Scott settled in Brighton, Sussex. Scott exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy from 1900 to 1952 and he was elected an associate of the Royal Society of British Artists 1919 and a full member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters circa 1920. He lived in London for many years and settled in Montpelier Road, Brighton in the 1940s and lived there up until his death. In 1948 Sep Scott was elected a member of the Brighton Arts Club. His work is represented in several public collections including the National Railway Museum and the National Football Museum. Copyright Grant Waters
