Biography

Reginald Brill was born in London. Studied under Henry Tonks at the Slade School of Art in 1921-24 after a period at St. Martin's School of Art. Won the Prix de Rome for painting and was at the British School in Rome in 1927-29. Worked in Cairo in 1930. Exhibited at the Royal Academy, Leicester Galleries and in East Anglia. Was principal of Kingston School of Art. Kingston Polytechnic, the Royal Borough and the Phoenix Gallery organised a retrospective in Kingston in 1985, with another at Stanley Picker Gallery, Kingston University in 1999. His work is represented in a number of public art galleries (see Art UK)
