Biography
Nina Hamnett was born in Tenby, Wales. Studied at the Pelham School of Art in South Kensington under Arthur Cope, then at London School of Art under John Swan, William Nicholson, Frank Brangwyn and George Lambert. Became acquainted with Walter Sickert of whom she painted an excellent portrait. Began to exhibit in the Albert Hall, at the NEAC and LG. Went to Paris, quickly becoming a member of the bohemian set, meeting artists such as Modigliani and Brancusi. Exhibited at RA, Leicester Galleries, Redfern Galleries, Arthur Tooth and Son and the Salon d'Automne in Paris.
