Biography
Harry Bush was born in Brighton. Studied art at the Regent Street Polytechnic and at West Lambeth. Exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1922-1954, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Royal Scottish Academy, Glasgow Institute, Paris Salon, Atkinson Art Gallery in Southport, Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and others. Elected member of ROI in 1930. Lived in Wimbledon. Christie's held a studio sale of his and his wife's Noel Laura Bush works in 1984. His work is held in National Library of New South Wales, Grundy Art Gallery in Blackpool, Russell Coates Art Gallery in Bournemouth, Museum of London and Imperial War Museum.
In 2004 Tate Gallery held a large exhibition The Art of the Garden, where work by Harry Bush was included.
