Biography

Gordon Davies was born in London. Studied at the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts in 1948 and Royal College of Art in 1950-53. Taught drawing part time at Canterbury College of Art. His work regularly appeared at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition from early 1950s. In 1962 assisted his friend John Ward with murals Challock Church, Kent and the Chateau Segonne, Bordeaux and elsewhere. Held solo shows at Wye College in 1967, Waterhouse Gallery in 1973, from 1977 at King Street Gallery and in 1993 at Sally Hunter Fine Art. Retrospective exhibition was held at Royal Museum and Art Gallery, Canterbury in 1990. @ copyright David Buckman 'Artists Working in Britain since 1945'
