Biography

Edmond Ceria was born in Evian. Attended Academie Julian, Paris in 1904. He began his career at the Salon des indépendants and exhibited his paintings from 1908 to 1914. From 1912, he became a member of the Salon d'automne. He exhibited there in 1912 and 1913, then from 1919 to 1926, in 1930 and in 1940. He also exhibited at the Salon des Tuileries since its foundation in 1923. Ceria exhibited in Lyon between 1925 and 1933 and again at the Salon des Indépendants in 1926, 1936 and 1937. In 1934, he stopped his travels in Provence to discover Brittany and in particular Finistere. 

Ceria exhibited with the Redfern Gallery in the 1940s, including the Summer Exhibition of 1947.
