Biography
Eardley Knollys was born in Alresford, Hampshire. Was educated at Winchester College and Oxford University. Was a friend of Edward Le Bas, who encouraged him to take up painting in 1949. Held his first solo show at the Minories Gallery, Colchester in 1960. Also exhibited at the Southampton City Art Gallery and Parkin Gallery. There was a posthumous exhibition at The Bloomsbury Workshop in 1999, a studio exhibition held at Messum's in 2002. His work is represented in a number of public collections such as The Government Art Collection, Southampton City Art Gallery, National Trust, Victoria Art Gallery in Bath (see
Art UK).
