Doris Zinkeisen 1898 - 1991

Doris Zinkeisen was born in Kilcreggan, Dumbartonshire. Sister of Anna Zinkeisen also a painter. Studied at the Harrow School of Art, then won a scholarship to the Royal Academy Schools. Her first painting - portrait of Anna was shown in RA, when Doris was only 16. Exhibited at the RA and other London venues, in the provinces and at the Paris Salon, where she won medals in 1929 and 1930. Elected ROI in 1928. Her work is represented in Imperial War Museum.
