Biography
Born in Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire. His art teacher, WY MacGregor, one of the Glasgow Boys, introduced him to the work of the Colourists. Became involved with Fergusson with the New Scottish Group from its formation in 1942. He stayed and worked several years after the War in France, settled in Glasgow in 1948. Major touring exhitibion of his work in 1972-73. Exhibited widely in France. Scottish Arts Council and Scottish Gallery of Modern Arts hold his work.
