Biography
David Tindle was born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. Studied at Coventry School of art in 1945-46. From early 1950's was featured in RA Summer Exhibition shows and had regular solo exhibitions at Piccadilly Gallery. By 1957 he had a retrospective at Conventry's Herbert Art Gallery. Tindle by then began to build up an impressive British and continental exhibitions record, including appearances at John Moores Exhibition in Liverpool in 1959. Elected RA in 1979. From 1985 showed at Fischer Fine Art, in 1996 showing new paintings and prints with The Redfern Gallery. Tate Gallery, Manchester City Art Gallery, National Portrait Gallery and many other public collections hold examples of his work.
