Biography
Born in London. Studied at Richmond School of Art , then Putney School of Art and at the Royal Academy Schools in 1925-27 and Paris in the late 1920's under Andre L'Hote. His first London solo show was in 1929 at The St. Martin's Gallery, 33 St. Martin's Court, Charring Cross Road, W C 2. His second was at the Leger in 1932 (Sir George Clausen, R.A. wrote the foreword). Held three solo shows at Roland Browse & Delbanco in 1946, 1947 and 1950. Memorial exhibition at the Belgrave Gallery in 1977. His work is represented in many collections, including Imperial War Museum, Victoria & Albert Museum, Arts Council and abroad (see Art UK).
