Bernard Dunstan was born in Teddington, Middlesex. Married to the painter Diana Armfield. Dunstan developed a keen following for his intimate interiors with nude and semi-draped figures and views of Italian towns. Studied at Byam Shaw School of Art in 1939, Slade School of Fine Art in 1939-41. Member of NEAC and elected RA in 1968. Held a number of solo exhibitions at Roland, Browse and Delbanco, later at Agnew. His work is represented in many public collections including Arts Council.
