Biography
Bernard Carter was born in London where he continued to live, married to the artist Eugenie Alexander. Carter was educated at Haberdashers' Aske's School, then Goldsmith's College School of Art. He went on to be a keeper in charge of pictures and conservation at National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, retiring in 1977. Had a solo show with Arthur Jeffress in 1955, then a long series with Portal Gallery. Also appeared at the RA, British Council, Arts Council and abroad.
