Biography

Anthony Eyton was born in London. Studied at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts from 1947 until 1950. In 1951-52 gained an Abbey Major Scholarship to work in Italy. Began to show with London Group and Royal Academy and in 1955 had first one man exhibition at St. George's Gallery. From 1957 taught at Camberbell School of Art, also taught at Royal Academy Schools from 1965 and in 1969 at St. Lawrence College, Kingston, Ontario. Member of London Group and New English Arts Club. Elected RA in 1987. Eyton showed at Browse & Darby and had a retrospective at South London Art Gallery and tour in 1980. Arts Council, Tate Gallery and Imperial War Museum hold examples of his work.
