Alfred Robert Hayward 1875-1971

Alfred Hayward was born in London. From 1891-94 attended South Kensington Schools, then was at the Slade School of Fine Art in 1895-97. Hayward was appointed an Official War Artist in 1918-19; his work is in the Imperial War Museum. Member of Chelsea Art Club. Exhibited at the Royal Academy, New English Artst Club, Leicester Galleries, Wildenstein. His work is represented in the Tate Gallery and other public galleries abroad and overseas. Belgrave Gallery held a centenary show in 1975.
