Biography
Alfred E.Cooper was born in Tettnhall, Staffordshire. Studied at Bilston School of Art and Royal College of Art, graduating in 1911. Served in Artists' Rifles in World War I. Elected RBA in 1914. In 1921 Cooper's picture London from an Airship was a notable feature of the RA Summer Exhibition, three years later he won an Honorary Mention at Paris Salon. Also showed his work at Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, ROI, Goupil Gallery. King George VI and Sir Winston Churchill were amongs Cooper's portrait subjects.
