Biography

Hoyton studied at Leeds College of Art. It was there where she trained to teach, eventually becoming an art teacher, during the World War II, at Benenden School in Kent. When her husband, the artist Edward Bouverie Hoyton, became principal of Penzance School of Art, Inez taught there from 1946-68. She and her husband became strongly associated with the Cornish artistic life, Inez was a member of the Newlyn Society of  Artists, the St. Ives Society of Artists and the Penwith Society in St. Ives. She travelled widely, notably in Greece, Italy and Spain. Exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Orion Gallery in Penzance and widely in Britain. Lived in Newlyn.
