Biography
Bornfriend Jacob 

 
Jacob Bornfriend was born Jakub Bauernfreund in Zborov, Slovakia. Educated at the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague in 1930-5. Moved to England in 1939. First one man show at Roland, Browse and Delbanco in London in 1950, where he continued to exhibit. His work is represented in The Tate Gallery, Southampton City Art Gallery, Leeds Art Gallery, Victoria Art Gallery, Bournemouth & Poole Museum, several colleges of Oxford, Museum of Bochum, Germany, Bratislava Museum, Prague National Gallery, other public galleries and important collections.
