| Born in Southport, Lancashire. Won a scholarship to the Royal College of Art and in 1898 a British Institution Prize for study in Paris. Showed widely, including RA, Leicester Galleries, Fine Art Society and NEAC. Held solo exhibitions at Leicester Galleries and Barbizon House. Elected RA in 1925. |
