| Alan Lowndes was born in Stockport, Cheshire. Studied painting at the Stockport College. Began exhibiting at the Crane Gallery, Manchester with a number of one man shows. Regularly exhibited at Crane Kalman, London, Osbourne Gallery, New York and Curlew Gallery, Southport. Had a retrospective exhibition at Stockport Art Gallery in 1972 and Crane Kalman Gallery in 1995. His work is represented in a number of public collections. |
