| Frederick Stead was born in Shipley in Yorkshire. Studied art at the RCA where he won gold and silver medals and also a travelling scholarship. Exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1892. Taught at Bradford School of Art. Lived in Bradford. Member of the Yorkshire Society of Artists. His work is represented in Caldedale Metropolitan Borough Council and Bradford Museums and Galleries (see BBC Your Paintings). |
