Alfred Reginald Thomson was born in Bangalore, India. Studied at the London Art School in Kensington, began exhibiting at the Royal Academy from 1920. Was an Official War Artist with the Royal Air Force. Elected RA in 1945.The Tate Gallery, Imperial War Museum, Arts Council Collection and provincial galleries hold examples of his work.(see
