Biography
Ruth Collet was born in Barley, Hertfordshire. Studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, where her teachers included Philip Wilson Steer, Henry Tonks and Franklin White. Collet also studied with S W Hayter in Paris. Exhibited two works with the East London Group under her maiden name Ruth Salaman at Alex Reid & Lefevre in December 1931. Showed her work extensively at Goupil Gallery, Royal Academy, New English Arts Club, London Group and Leicester Galleries. Memorial show at Broughton House Gallery in Cambridge in 2003.
