Biography

Edna Ginesi was born in Leeds. Studied at the Leeds School of Art.Married to the artist Raymond Coxon.Both Coxon and Ginesi attended the Royal College of Art in London from 1921 to 1925 where, along with Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth and Vivian Pitchforth, they formed what was known as 'the Leeds table'. Showed in group exhibitions at London Group of which she was a member, Cooling and Leicester Galleries. Had her first solo show at Zwemmer Gallery in 1932. Was an ambulance driver during the World War II. Retrospective exhibition at Bradford in 1956 and a shared exhibition with her husband at Parkin Gallery in 1985. Her work is represented in the Tate Gallery.
