Biography

Born Albert Henry Lock in Westminster, London. Studied at the Westminster School of Art under Walter Sickert in 1910-1912, then Bolt Court School, where he specialised in lithography and worked under Walter Bayes in 1912-1914. He was contemporary of Blampied and Nicolson.Lock features the horse in much of his work. Illustrated several books with outdoor and hunting themes. Exhibited at the Royal Academy, RWS, ROI and Paris Salon. Held one man shows at Leger Galleries in the 1930's. Studio sale held in Christie's South Kensington in 1979. British Museum and British Council hold examples of his work. Lived in Wimbledon.
