Grand-daughter of James Paterson.
Anne Paterson-Wallace was born in 1923 in Montrose, Scotland. Studied at Perth Academy. During the World War II served in the WRNS in Special Branch. Awarded a grant to study at Chelsea School of Art in 1946-49, where her teachers included Ceri Richards and Robert Medley. Had a number of solo exhibitions in East Anglia, where she settled. Member of Free Painters and Sculptors in Ipswich and Woodbridge Art Club.In 1977 organised exhibition of 'Family Paterson of Painters' held at Belgrave Gallery, London and Fine Art Society in Edinburgh.
