| Biography |
| Emily Beatrice Bland was born in Lincoln. Studied at the Lincoln School of Art, then at the Slade School of Fine Art under Henry Tonks and Fred Brown 1892-94. Held her first solo show at Leicester Galleries in 1922, other solo shows at Redfern and Arthur Tooth & Son galleries. Exhibited at the Royal Academy, New English Arts Club, Fine Art Society, Burlington House, Goupil Gallery, Ridley Art Club and elsewhere.One of her landscapes 'The Orchard' was bought by the Queen in 1940. Chantrey Bequest bought two works for the Tate Gallery. Her work is represented in University of Hull Art Gallery, other public British and overseas galleries. |
