| Biography |
| Richard Demarco was born in Edinburgh, where he continues to live. Studied at the Edinburgh College of Art in 1949-1953, then after Army service was made art master at Duns Scotus Academy in 1956-57. Elected member of SSA and RSW. In the 1960s opened Richard Demarco Gallery, which became a focal point in innovative art. Demarco received a Scottish Arts Council Award for services to the contemporary Scottish art world. Victoria & Albert Museum, Scottish Arts Council and Philadelphia Museum of Art hold his work. |
