| Biography |
| Eileen Agar was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Came to England in 1911. Studied at Byam Shaw School, then with Leon Underwood at Brook Green School, the Slade School of Fine Arts and two years in Paris. Began to show widely in London, having a first solo exhibition at the Redfern Gallery in 1942. Retrospective exhibition at Birch and Conran in 1988. The Tate Gallery among others hold example of her work. Elected RA shortly before her death. |
