Sir Kyffin Williams was born in Llangefni, Anglesey. Attended the Slade School Fine Art in 1941-4. In 1968 gained a Winston Churchill Fellowship to record the Welsh in Patagonia. Elected RA in 1974. Exhibited at Colnaghi's from 1948, at the Leicester Galleries, Howard Roberts Gallery in Cardiff and Thackeray Gallery. In 1987 a retrospective exhibition toured from National Museum of Wales. His pictures are held by Arts Council, National Museum and National Gallery of Wales and elsewhere.
