| John Melville was born in London. At the end of 1920's became associated with the Modern Group in Birmingham, then was connected with the Surrealists in London. Exhibited widely from the 1930's at the St.George's Gallery, Wertheim Gallery, RBSA and elsewhere, his work was featured in international shows of Surrealist and Dada art. Blond Fine Art had a retrospective exhibition in 1986, Gothick Dream Fine Art held a memorial exhibition in 1987 and The Millinery Works had another show in 2006. |
