| Conroy Maddox was born in Ledbury, Herefordshire. In 1938 joined the British Surrealist Group. Showed at the Wertheim Gallery, London Gallery, AIA and in the provinces and contributed to Surrealist publications. Associated with the Chicago Surrealist Group in 1970. Had several one man shows at Hamet Gallery in 1970's and retrospectives at Camden Arts Centre in 1978 and Stoke-on-Trent City Museum and Art Gallery in 1995. Victoria & Albert Museum and other public collections hold examples. |
