Biography
Winifred Nicholson was born in Oxford. Attended Byam Shaw School of Art, then studied art in Paris, Lugano, India and the Hebrides. Held her first solo show at the Mayor Gallery in 1925. Was a member of 7&5 Society in 1925-35 and the NEAC 1937-43. Exhibited internationally. Her work is held in many public galleries including the Tate Gallery, Britol, Bradford, Adelaide and Melbourne.
