| Gerald Wilde was born in London. Attended Chelsea School of Art 1926-31 and 1932-34 under Percy Hague Jowett and H S Williamson. In 1935 begins life long friendship with Henry Moore. Held his first one man show at the Hanover Gallery in 1948, also showing with AIA, NEAC, LG and elsewhere. The ICA gave Wilde a retrospective exhibition in 1955. Held a number of solo exhibitions at October Gallery since 1979. |
