Glyn Philpot was born in London. Studied at Lambeth School of Art and in Paris under Laurens at the Academie Julian in 1905. Began exhibiting at the Royal Academy in 1904. First one man show held at the Baillie Gallery in 1910. Elected RA in 1923. Member of the I.S.in 1913 and a foundation member of the NPS in 1911. Exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 1930.
