Henry Lamb was born in Adelaide, Australia. Family returned to Manchester in 1886. In 1906 Lamb studied at Chelsea Art School, run by Augustus John and William Orpen. Exhibited with the AAA, Camden Town Group and NEAC, in RA from 1921. Elected RA in 1949. First solo show in 1922 at Alpine Gallery.
