| Endre Nemes was born in Hungary. Studied at the Art Academy in Prague. First exhibition with Jacob Bornfriend at the Gallery Dr.Feigl in Prague in 1936. In 1938 emigrated to Helsinki. In 1941 exhibition in Stockholm. In 1959 one man show in Zurich and Freiburg. Retrospective exhibition at the Art Gallery in Lund, Goteburg and Prague National Gallery. In 1965 awarded the Stipendium of the Swedish State. Major exhibition of work in 1965 at Drian Galleries, London. His work is represented in the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm, Philadelphia Art Museum in USA, Brooklyn Museum, USA, Slovakian National Gallery in Bratislava and many other public collections. |
