| Born in London. Studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in 1920-24. Daintrey gathered a wide circle of friends, who included the artists Augustus John, Nina Hamnett and Rex Whistler. Continued studies in the Louvre and L'Academie de la Grande Chaumiere, Paris. First exhibition shared with Paul Nash at Dororthy Warren's Gallery in 1928. Daintrey had successful exhibitions at South London Art Gallery, Michael Parkin Fine Art and Sally Hunter Fine Art. British Museum and Imperial War Museum hold examples of his work. |
